Senior Cost Control & Project Recovery Manager

About the role

We are seeking a senior professional to lead cost governance and recovery initiatives on major Oil & Gas EPC projects in Abu Dhabi. The manager will establish the true cost‑at‑completion (EAC) position, pinpoint cost leakage, and drive measurable improvements in project performance, productivity, and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain an integrated cost‑control framework covering budget control, actual costs, commitments, accruals, ETC, EAC, margin forecasts and cash‑flow interfaces.
• Ensure alignment of WBS/CBS structures with schedules, quantities, manpower, procurement, subcontracting and commodity ownership.
• Measure earned versus actual man‑hours, identify productivity losses, idle resources and cost leakage.
• Analyse cost and schedule performance using objective project‑controls data.
• Develop and track a quantified Project Recovery Plan that includes productivity improvement, workforce optimisation, demobilisation strategies, subcontract execution, procurement exposure mitigation, indirect‑cost reductions and schedule acceleration.
• Forecast manpower and demobilisation requirements and conduct scenario analysis to support decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven specialist in turning around under‑performing EPC projects with at least 15 years of relevant experience.
• Strategic leader capable of influencing senior project and construction teams.
• Hands‑on approach to identify root causes, quantify recovery opportunities and implement corrective actions.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable improvement plans.
