Senior Firmware Engineer – Emirati Talent

About the role

As a Senior Firmware Engineer at Edge, you will design, develop, integrate and verify low‑level embedded software for satellite and RF payloads, ensuring reliable hardware control and real‑time performance throughout the mission lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, integrate and debug firmware for satellite and SDR payload embedded systems.
• Support hardware bring‑up, low‑level software validation and interface testing.
• Prepare technical documentation, software descriptions and test procedures.
• Conduct laboratory verification, troubleshooting and performance testing.
• Collaborate with digital hardware, software, RF and system engineering teams for end‑to‑end payload integration.

Required profile

• Graduates, PhD students or PhDs in engineering, physics, mathematics or computer science with strong motivation.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally, including frequent trips to partner facilities.
• Good command of English; a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Electronic, Telecommunications Engineering or related field is desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the VIVADO toolchain and embedded C/C++ for real‑time applications.
• Experience with microcontrollers, SoCs or FPGA‑based embedded platforms.
• Knowledge of hardware interfacing and digital communication protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, CAN, PCIe and Ethernet.
• Familiarity with Python, LabView and laboratory instruments (oscilloscope, bus analyzer, etc.).
