Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer – Systems

About the role

Penspen is seeking a senior Instrumentation and Control Engineer (Systems) to work on‑site at a gas processing plant in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on Instrumentation Control & Safety Systems (ICSS), including DCS, ESD/SIS, Fire & Gas and PLC/SCADA solutions, supporting the full project lifecycle from design through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve instrumentation and control documentation, vendor packages and specifications.
• Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Integrated FAT, Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and commissioning activities.
• Perform loop checking, cause‑and‑effect verification and control‑loop validation for DCS, ESD and Fire & Gas systems.
• Coordinate integration of field instruments, actuated valves and ICSS components with the control architecture.
• Liaise with the Home Office and Field Engineering teams to resolve technical queries.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Instrumentation from a recognised university.
• Minimum 15 years of experience, with at least 10 years in the oil and gas sector.
• Proven experience on gas‑processing projects, including design, installation and field engineering.
• Familiarity with ADNOC group companies or similar Middle‑East oil & gas organisations is desirable.
