Senior Specialist Consultant – Oral and Dental Surgeon

About the role

A prestigious government healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking an experienced Senior Specialist / Consultant in Oral and Dental Surgery to join its multidisciplinary dental team. The role involves delivering comprehensive surgical care, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and follow‑up for patients requiring oral and dental surgery.
• Perform oral and dentoalveolar surgical procedures, including surgical extractions, impacted tooth management and minor oral surgery.
• Manage complex surgical cases and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Conduct pre‑operative assessments and ensure high‑quality post‑operative care.
• Collaborate with dentists, orthodontists, prosthodontists, periodontists, maxillofacial surgeons and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Teach, supervise and mentor junior dental and clinical staff.
• Promote patient safety, infection control and evidence‑based practice.

Required profile

• Recognised dental degree (BDS, DDS, DMD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Oral Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery or a related dental specialty.
• Significant post‑specialty clinical experience with a strong record of oral and dentoalveolar surgery.
• Experience managing complex oral surgical cases and excellent clinical judgment.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary government healthcare environment.
• Internationally recognised specialist/consultant qualifications (e.g., UK CCT, American Board, Australian Board, South African Board) are strongly encouraged.
