Senior Specialist – R&D and Innovation (UAE National)

About the role

This senior specialist role leads applied research initiatives that shape Abu Dhabi's infrastructure strategy and execution. The successful candidate will turn innovative concepts into concrete outcomes while collaborating with technical teams, senior leadership, and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end R&D projects aligned with infrastructure priorities.
• Design and implement innovation strategies together with senior leadership.
• Integrate emerging technologies into current and future infrastructure projects.
• Partner with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure alignment.
• Oversee delivery, quality, timelines, and resource allocation for research initiatives.
• Provide technical insight on trends, data, and methodologies.
• Prepare concise reports and recommendations for leadership.

Required profile

• UAE national with strong English proficiency.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in R&D, innovation, or related fields.
• Background in engineering, AI, research, or a related discipline.
• Proven track record delivering complex research projects.
• Good understanding of Abu Dhabi’s infrastructure landscape.
• Ability to work across strategy, delivery, and stakeholder engagement.
