Principal Robotics Engineer Guidance Navigation And Control

About the role

The Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer will develop and implement advanced algorithms that enable autonomous systems to operate with high precision and stability. This senior position involves designing real‑time guidance, multi‑sensor navigation, and robust control solutions for aerospace, defense, and UAV applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop real‑time guidance algorithms for trajectory generation, path planning, and mission execution, optimizing performance for efficiency, safety, and adaptability.
• Design multi‑sensor navigation solutions using GNSS, INS, visual odometry, LIDAR, radar, and altimeters, and implement sensor‑fusion techniques such as Kalman Filters.
• Design and optimise control laws for linear and nonlinear systems, support actuator modelling, control surface tuning, and real‑time deployment.
• Create GNC simulation environments, support SIL, HIL, and flight testing, and lead subsystem integration across hardware and software interfaces.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Robotics, Aerospace, Control Systems or related field; Master’s/PhD preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in GNC design within aerospace, defence, UAVs or autonomous systems.
• Strong understanding of control systems, flight dynamics, and embedded software.

Required skills

• MATLAB / Simulink, C++, Python programming.
• Sensor fusion and filtering techniques (e.g., Kalman Filters).
• Experience with GNSS, INS, visual odometry, LIDAR, radar, altimeters.
• Simulation and real‑time system development, including SIL/HIL testing.
