Specialist Consultant Hand Surgeon – Leading Healthcare Facility

About the role

A leading UAE healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Specialist/Consultant Hand Surgeon to join its orthopedic and surgical team. The role involves comprehensive assessment, surgical management and rehabilitation of hand, wrist and upper‑limb conditions in both elective and emergency settings.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat a wide range of hand, wrist and upper‑limb disorders, including traumatic injuries and degenerative conditions.
• Perform elective and emergency hand and upper‑limb surgeries, including fracture fixation, tendon and nerve repairs, ligament reconstructions and complex reconstructive procedures.
• Conduct pre‑operative assessments and provide post‑operative follow‑up and rehabilitation planning.
• Collaborate with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, radiologists, plastic surgeons and other specialists in multidisciplinary case discussions.
• Maintain accurate medical records, surgical documentation and participate in clinical audits and quality‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• MBBS, MD or equivalent medical qualification with postgraduate training in Orthopedic Surgery or a related surgical specialty.
• Fellowship or advanced training in Hand & Upper Limb Surgery (preferred).
• Significant post‑specialisation experience in hand surgery, preferably in a tertiary‑care or specialist orthopedic centre.
• Internationally recognised qualifications such as UK CCT/FRCS, American Board, Australian FRACS, South African Board, etc.
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills and a patient‑centred approach.
