Specialist Rotating Engineer – Construction

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Specialist Rotating Engineer to lead construction‑related activities for rotating equipment in oil & gas projects. The role involves supervising installation, alignment, testing and commissioning of pumps, compressors, turbines and related machinery at sites in the GCC region.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise installation, inspection, alignment, testing and commissioning of rotating equipment ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, API standards and project procedures.
• Review and approve method statements, inspection and test plans, lifting plans and installation procedures.
• Verify foundations, anchor bolts, baseplates, grouting, shaft alignment, piping connections, lubrication and preservation.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, engineering, QA/QC, HSE, commissioning and operations teams to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain construction records, inspection reports, equipment dossiers and handover documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 17 years of oil & gas experience, including 5+ years on PMC projects.
• Proven experience managing contractors and construction execution in live operating facilities.
• Strong background in greenfield and brownfield compression facility projects, preferably in the GCC/Middle East.
