Vice President & Enterprise Architect – Wholesale Banking

About the role

RAKBANK is looking for a Vice President and Enterprise Architect to lead the design and delivery of next‑generation wholesale banking platforms. The role blends deep treasury and transaction‑banking domain knowledge with strong technical expertise in digital banking, microservices, APIs and cloud technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Define end‑to‑end architecture for Treasury and Transaction Banking solutions, covering payments, liquidity, cash management, trade finance and capital markets.
• Design modern, cloud‑native platforms using microservices, API‑first and event‑driven patterns.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise standards, security, compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Drive AWS adoption, delivering scalable, resilient and cost‑optimized architectures.
• Lead integration of core banking, treasury and transaction systems with digital channels and partner ecosystems.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers, engineering, DevOps and data teams to translate functional needs into technical designs.
• Manage vendor relationships for treasury and transaction‑banking solutions.
• Contribute to the digital wholesale banking strategy, exploring AI/ML, blockchain and real‑time analytics.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in wholesale banking, specifically treasury management (front‑to‑back office, risk, liquidity, FX/MM, derivatives) and transaction banking (payments, collections, cash management, trade finance).
• Strong understanding of banking regulations, compliance and market standards.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams and influence senior business stakeholders.

Required skills

• AWS cloud services (including Kubernetes, ECS, serverless, cloud networking)
• Microservices architecture and design patterns
• API design, API gateways and event‑driven integration (messaging, ESB, iPaaS)
• Cloud‑native development and deployment
• Experience with AI/ML, blockchain or real‑time analytics concepts (knowledge level acceptable)
