About the role
The Ward Clerk – OPD provides essential administrative support to the outpatient department, allowing nursing and medical staff to concentrate on delivering high‑quality patient care. This full‑time position is based at Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver day‑to‑day administrative assistance to the ward/unit.
- Manage patient registration and admission processes.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date medical insurance information for all patients.
- Monitor and control clinical and non‑clinical stock levels.
- Promote patient satisfaction through courteous service.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Grade 12).
- Secretarial Diploma or basic nursing background is an advantage.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an administrative role, preferably within healthcare.
Required skills
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite.
- Understanding of insurance claim procedures.
- Good verbal and written English communication.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and patient care support processes.
- Knowledge of stock control processes and systems.
