1:1 Learning Support Assistant

About the role

JESS Arabian Ranches Secondary School, part of JESS Dubai, a British international school in the UAE, is seeking a passionate 1:1 Learning Support Assistant. The role supports an individual or small groups of children to engage in learning across the curriculum. It is a full-time position paid AED 8,000 per month, offered on a local contractual basis and funded by parents.

Key responsibilities

• Establish a supportive relationship with the pupil and understand their specific needs through liaison with staff and professional development.
• Support in-class learning and social interaction under the guidance of the Oasis Lead and/or subject teacher.
• Observe progress, give feedback and redirect attention so the student gains independence.
• Liaise with teachers on lesson planning and adapting resources, and provide personalised support outside class when required.
• Track pupil progress against IEP targets and report to the subject teacher and Oasis Link.
• Perform break duties, attend staff meetings and trips when requested, and support the Oasis department with cover or admin tasks when the student is absent.
• Follow school and authority policies, adapt to changing circumstances and perform other related duties.

Required profile

• Preferably at least a High School Diploma; a CACHE Level 3 qualification or equivalent is desirable.
• Relevant and recent school-based experience in the classroom or on a 1:1 basis.
• Own UAE residence visa and medical cover; the role is parent funded.
• Hard work, positivity and kindness, with a passion for helping students develop the skills they need for life.
