Account Receivable Specialist (Construction, UAE)

About the role

e.construct is an engineering design firm with 7 offices worldwide, covering structural, MEP, geotechnical and construction technology design. It is hiring an Account Receivable Specialist in Dubai who will oversee the full cycle of receivables for construction projects, ensuring timely billing, accurate documentation and strong client follow-up. The role needs solid knowledge of construction contracts (LPOs, subcontract agreements, variation orders) and experience dealing with consultants and main contractors in the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and submit progress invoices, milestone billings and final accounts in line with contract terms, including SOA, WIP, insurance, delivery notes, PO and completion certificates.
• Coordinate with project managers and QS teams to validate quantities, variations and claims before invoicing.
• Monitor aging reports and follow up with clients, consultants and main contractors for payment approvals and collections.
• Resolve payment delays, discrepancies and disputes, and track retention releases after project completion and DLP closure.
• Maintain AR records, contracts and billing files, ensure VAT-compliant documentation and support auditors during financial reviews.
• Manage e-billing portals and client online submission systems.
• Work with Project, QS, Commercial and Finance teams for accurate revenue and monthly closing, provide weekly AR aging and collection updates, and support cash-flow planning.

Required profile

• 5-10 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, with mandatory experience in construction or contracting companies in the UAE.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Professional certifications (CPA, CMA) are a plus.
• Proven track record dealing with consultants, developers and main contractors in the UAE.

Required skills

• Knowledge of AR processes, reconciliations and project accounting.
• Proficiency in ERP, Oracle, SAP or similar accounting systems.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliation sheets).
