Accountant - Accounts Payable and Month-End Closing

About the role

The purpose of the role is to ensure accurate, timely and efficient accounting operations covering Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank and cash management, POS reconciliations, general ledger activities and month-end closing, while maintaining strong financial controls, supporting reporting and compliance and driving continuous process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable across multiple entities, reviewing and verifying vendor invoices against purchase orders, contracts and approvals, and ensuring timely payments by bank transfer, cheque and other methods
• Perform vendor and petty cash reconciliations, maintain AP aging reports and coordinate with vendors and internally to keep invoices and supporting documents on time
• Prepare and post month-end journal entries including AP accruals, and ensure timely GL, bank and cash reconciliations and intercompany account reconciliation where applicable
• Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for financial reporting and assist in monthly financial statement preparation
• Provide data and support for audit and compliance requirements

Required profile

• 3-5 years of accounting experience with a strong focus on Accounts Payable and month-end closing; hospitality or fast-food restaurant background is an advantage
• Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA or CA Inter is an advantage
• Communication, analytical, organisational and time-management skills, with attention to detail in high-volume transaction environments
• English language

• Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems; Oracle experience preferred
