Accountant – Full‑time, UAE

About the role

We are looking for an Accountant to own the books as transaction volume grows. You will manage the ledger, month‑end close, payables, receivables, VAT and audit readiness, allowing the CFO to focus on treasury and strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and execute month‑end and year‑end close, including accruals, pre‑payments, fixed assets, inter‑company entries and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Process vendor invoices and payments with proper approvals, issue merchant invoices, follow up receivables and reconcile bank accounts weekly.
• Prepare UAE VAT returns, support corporate tax filings and keep audit‑ready documentation.
• Produce monthly management accounts, variance analysis against budget and cash reports for the CFO.
• Handle payroll entries, WPS files and expense claim cycles in partnership with People & Culture.
• Own the audit file, respond to auditor queries and maintain a controls register.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of accounting experience, at least 2 years in the UAE, with hands‑on month‑end close.
• Working knowledge of UAE VAT, corporate tax requirements and WPS payroll.
• Proficiency in a cloud accounting system (Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho Books or similar) and advanced Excel.
• ACC​A/CA/CMA part‑qualified or fully qualified.
