Accountant – Used Car Trading (Dubai)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to manage the full accounting cycle for a growing used‑car trading business in Dubai. The role includes VAT Profit Margin Scheme compliance, corporate tax duties and bank financing support.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain full‑cycle bookkeeping and accounting in line with IFRS and local GAAP.
• Apply the UAE VAT Profit Margin Scheme to used‑vehicle sales, calculate margins and keep proper documentation.
• Prepare and file VAT returns through the FTA EmaraTax portal.
• Manage UAE corporate tax registration, computations and annual filings.
• Track vehicle inventory costing, including purchase price, reconditioning costs and unit margins.
• Prepare and submit bank loan and credit facility applications with supporting financial statements and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Liaise with banks on facility renewals, covenant compliance and auto‑finance processes.
• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Handle accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations and petty cash.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the UAE.
• Hands‑on experience with the UAE VAT Profit Margin Scheme; automotive or used‑goods trading background is a plus.
• Solid knowledge of UAE VAT and corporate tax legislation.
• Proven experience preparing bank loan and credit facility applications.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills in English; Russian is mandatory, Arabic is an advantage.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CMA or CPA is a plus.
