Actuarial Analyst – Healthcare Reserving (3‑5 yrs experience)

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Actuarial Analyst with 3‑5 years of P&C or Healthcare reserving experience to join GIG Gulf in the United Arab Emirates. The role combines actuarial expertise with data‑science techniques to support strategic decisions and profitability analysis for our healthcare lines of business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly reserving tasks for Healthcare lines, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and maintain reserving models for Commercial and Personal Healthcare segments using techniques such as Chain Ladder, Mack, Bootstrap and stochastic modeling.
• Conduct profitability analysis and contribute to strategic decision‑making across Healthcare segments.
• Support regulatory reporting, including implementation of IFRS 17 requirements.
• Collaborate with external actuaries, auditors, reinsurers and internal teams on ad‑hoc studies and data‑driven solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in P&C or Healthcare actuarial reserving, with a focus on healthcare reserving.
• Strong communication skills to translate complex analytical results to diverse audiences.

Required skills

• Chain Ladder, Mack, Bootstrap, stochastic modeling, Bornhuetter‑Ferguson.
• ResQ, IBNRS reserving software.
• SQL and Postgres for data extraction and manipulation.
• Programming in Python, R, C++ and familiarity with SAS.
• Power BI for dashboard creation and data visualization.
• Predictive modeling, statistical analysis and data‑driven insight generation.
