Actuarial Science Faculty – Business

About the role

Higher Colleges of Technology is seeking a full‑time faculty member for the Business faculty specializing in Actuarial Science. The role involves delivering effective instruction to second‑language learners, contributing to academic and extracurricular activities, and supporting the college’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and develop curriculum for actuarial science courses, using educational technology and applied approaches aligned with program goals.
• Assess student learning through tests, projects, assignments and provide continuous feedback, maintaining grade records and contributing to question banks.
• Advise and mentor students, including at‑risk support, internship supervision, and maintaining regular office hours.
• Engage in applied research relevant to national innovation agendas and represent the faculty at conferences.
• Participate in faculty, program and system‑wide committees, and serve as sponsor or adviser to student groups.
• Maintain teaching facilities, prepare electronic course assessment files, and support continuous improvement of teaching and quality assurance.
• Coach and mentor junior staff, contribute to recruitment of UAE nationals, and promote organizational resilience practices.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, or a Master’s degree with professional certification and at least five years of combined teaching and industry experience; a Bachelor’s degree may be considered with extensive industry experience.
• Minimum three years of teaching experience in the relevant discipline and three years of relevant industry experience (preferred).
• Experience in curriculum development, accreditation standards, and incorporation of educational technology into instruction.
