Acute Medicine Specialist - Tax Free Opportunity

About the role

A hospital in Dubai is looking for a dedicated Acute Internal Medicine Physician to join its team. The physician diagnoses, treats and manages patients with acute medical conditions, usually admitted to medical wards or acute medical units, and works closely with other healthcare professionals to provide timely, patient-centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide acute medical care to patients with a wide range of conditions and perform thorough assessments and diagnoses.
• Lead acute medical admissions and provide care in emergency situations.
• Carry out ward rounds, including the management of critically ill patients.
• Coordinate with specialties such as cardiology, nephrology and respiratory medicine for integrated care.
• Interpret laboratory results, imaging and other diagnostic tests to guide treatment.
• Take part in acute and emergency procedures, including resuscitation and stabilisation of critically ill patients.
• Document patient history, treatment plans and progress accurately.
• Mentor and supervise junior doctors, residents and medical students.
• Take part in multidisciplinary team discussions and case reviews, and contribute to clinical protocols and standards of care.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Internal Medicine or Acute Medicine (e.g. MRCP or equivalent).
• 3-5 years of experience in acute internal medicine or a similar role.
• Active licence to practice in the current state.
• Certification in ALS, BLS or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex acute cases.
• Fluency in English; another language is an asset.
