Adult Psychiatrist – Dubai

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Adult Psychiatrist to join our team in Dubai. You will assess, diagnose and treat adults with a wide range of mental health conditions, delivering safe, evidence‑based and patient‑centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations for adult patients.
• Diagnose and manage conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, OCD, PTSD, ADHD and substance‑related disorders.
• Develop and review individual treatment plans, including medication management and monitoring.
• Provide risk assessment, suicide‑risk evaluation and crisis intervention, with referral to inpatient or emergency care when needed.
• Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, primary care physicians and other specialists to coordinate care.
• Educate and support patients and their families on diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
• Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records in line with UAE health regulations.
• Participate in clinical governance, case reviews, quality improvement and supervision of junior staff.
• Contribute to community awareness and mental health education programmes.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
• Specialist qualification or board certification in Psychiatry.
• Minimum of 3 years post‑specialty experience in adult psychiatry.
• Valid DHA (Dubai Health Authority) licence or eligibility to obtain one.
• Strong skills in diagnosis, psychopharmacology, risk assessment and clinical documentation.
• Excellent communication in English; Arabic is a strong advantage.
• Cultural sensitivity, empathy and sound ethical judgement.
• Experience in a sub‑specialty (e.g., addiction, perinatal, geriatric) or both inpatient and outpatient settings is preferred.
