Advanced Application Engineer

About the role

The Advanced Application Engineer will work with minimal supervision to capture technical requirements, design, estimate, engineer, configure, test and commission control and monitoring systems for airport projects. The role involves close collaboration with customers, internal R&D, sales teams and standards bodies to ensure high availability and security of Honeywell airport technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and document requirements, design system and software solutions for AGLCMS, A‑SMGCS, ATM, VDGS and related technologies.
• Provide advanced engineering and application support for day‑to‑day operation of Level 4 Advanced Surface Movement & Guidance Control Systems.
• Coordinate with R&D, sales, and regulatory bodies (ICAO, FAA, EASA, IEC) to define project requirements and contribute to standards.
• Manage onsite software configuration, prepare method statements, SOPs, quality plans and commissioning checklists.
• Lead installation, testing, commissioning, warranty and post‑warranty maintenance of air traffic control systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Diploma degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Solid experience installing, testing and commissioning AGLCMS systems in airport environments.
• Strong knowledge of airport safety regulations and ability to produce technical submittals, method statements and quality documentation.

Required skills

• Design and implementation of TCP/IP‑based services (HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP).
• Hands‑on experience with AGL, CMS, A‑SMGCS, ATM, VDGS, induction loop sensors.
• Power electronics, high‑voltage (up to 5000 VAC) equipment commissioning and electrical safety.
• Preparation of checklists, testing & commissioning plans, and technical reporting.
