Airbus Fleet Engineer - Avionic Systems

About the role

Etihad Airways is hiring a Fleet Engineer for its Airbus fleet, based in Abu Dhabi. The role reports to the Airbus Technical Fleet Manager and ensures compliance with CAR-AIR-OPS, CAR M and CAR 145 requirements so that the aircraft remain airworthy and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Review all Airbus-related Airworthiness Directives and mandatory Service Bulletins for the Etihad fleet, ensuring mandatory modifications are assessed, decided and carried out in a timely manner.
• Work with OEMs, MROs and internal departments to improve fleet reliability, on-time performance and reduce costs.
• Create business cases for modifications and support decision-making in the Modification Review Committee.
• Compile Engineering Orders, Special Checks and Additional Engineering Requirements for modifications and aircraft status assessment.
• Support technical projects such as EIS, end-of-aircraft-lease and modification projects.
• Ensure TFU/FAIR advisories are reviewed regularly and issued.
• Make sure all work follows internal processes and procedures, and promote a positive reporting culture by reporting unsafe acts, conditions and risks.
• Support the Lead Engineer on Fleet Management functions.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification meeting the eligibility requirements for charted engineer membership (e.g. a bachelor's degree in aeronautical, mechanical or electrical/electronics engineering).
• 3 years of CAMO experience as Fleet Engineer or Technical Services Engineer, or 5 years of job-related experience in technical commercial aviation or airline engineering is generally preferred.

Required skills

• Aircraft B1/B2 type training on the A320, A350 or A380 fleet is an added advantage.
• Experience with AMOS MIS is an added advantage.
