Material Inventory Controller

About the role

NMDC Dredging and Marine is looking for a Material Inventory Controller to keep stock at an optimum level to meet end-user needs on time and at the best inventory value. The role covers ordering and replenishment procedures, stock adjustments and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain optimal stock levels using inventory ordering and replenishment procedures and policies.
• Manage overall stock replenishment for main store and satellite warehouses based on MIN/MAX, MRP, SDV, TV, SRL and other stock documents.
• Evaluate stock items to identify those below and above min/max levels and take corrective action.
• Prepare purchase requisitions, normal purchase orders and long-term contracts, and call off orders based on SRL and SDV.
• Transfer materials to satellite stores via transfer vouchers and follow up on outstanding or delayed purchase orders and requisitions with procurement, expediters and suppliers.
• Track non-moving items, monitor inventory levels against market conditions and adjust stock to correct stocktaking discrepancies.
• Prepare statistical and status reports, support internal and external audits with documentation, and carry out annual stocktakes.
• Send SRLs to end users for periodic evaluation and stock adjustments.

Required profile

• High school diploma with 4 years' experience in a relevant role such as material planner or inventory control.
• High school and diploma in Material Management with 3 years' experience in a relevant role such as material planner or inventory control.
