Analyst, Budget & Cost Control (CAPEX)

About the role

ADNOC is hiring an Analyst for its Budget & Cost Control team (CAPEX) in Abu Dhabi. The role takes part in preparing and consolidating annual budgets and the Five-Year Business Plan, monitors spending against budget limits, prepares accruals and reconciles payments with the General Ledger, and produces periodic financial reports and cost analyses.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and calculate revenue budgets from Planning teams, checking them against formats, criteria and policy guidelines.
• Receive operating plans from Marketing, Supply & Trading functions and add estimated costs.
• Take part in preparing, coordinating and consolidating annual and Five-Year Revenue, Operating, Manpower, Logistics, Supply & Trading budgets for the Directorate and business line.
• Update budget records with all expenditures related to Operating and Logistics budgets.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports, including reconciliation and variance analysis on sales and cost performance.
• Monitor expenses, highlight variances from approved budgets and report to the supervisor.
• Follow up on documents received by the Directorate so they are processed and sent to Finance & Investment Directorate.
• Prepare accruals and monthly payments, reconcile them with the General Ledger (checking trial balance and uncharged expenses), and forward them for cash flow preparation.
• Input codes on sales invoices and payments to ensure proper allocation to the ADNOC financial system and that payments follow agreements.
• Carry out and document Client Financial Performance Reports and perform other duties directed by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in the Oil and Gas or Petrochemical industry, related to marketing budgets, contracts, accounting and financial analysis.

Required skills

• Very good knowledge of relevant accounting software.
• Cost analysis and accounting software skills (e.g. SAP).
