Arabic Teacher (Maternity Cover)

About the role

The school seeks an enthusiastic Arabic Teacher to cover a maternity leave, delivering inclusive, play‑based learning that inspires curiosity and supports academic, social and personal development of students.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver inspiring Arabic lessons, planning engaging, curriculum‑aligned activities for a mixed‑ability class.
• Plan and prepare classroom resources, displays and learning technologies to create a stimulating environment.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, curriculum support staff and parents to monitor progress and ensure student wellbeing.
• Assess and record student achievement using Target Tracker, providing constructive feedback to pupils and parents.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policy and support SEN needs alongside the SENCO.
• Participate in CPD, curriculum action groups and school events, including extracurricular activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teacher qualification.
• Minimum 1–2 years of teaching experience, preferably with students for whom Arabic is not a first language.
• Passion for teaching the whole child and recent involvement in extracurricular activities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work flexibly with colleagues, parents and support staff.
• Clean enhanced DBS/police check and commitment to safeguarding children.
