Architectural Inspector

About the role

Mott MacDonald, a global engineering, management and development consultancy, is hiring an Architectural Inspector in Dubai. The inspector inspects site architectural activities to ensure quality of work complies with contract requirements, approved drawings and specifications, and good construction practices. The position is permanent and full time.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect site architectural activities and ensure only approved materials and systems are used, in line with approved submittals.
• Review architectural materials delivered to site against approved samples and specifications.
• Monitor finishes, workmanship and installation methods during construction.
• Report and follow up non-compliance cases and advise the resident engineer or deputy project manager.
• Coordinate with contractors and other discipline inspectors for proper interface and sequencing of works.
• Review contractor method statements and maintain daily inspection records, reports and photographic documentation.
• Assist the project team during client and authority inspections, and take part in snagging, de-snagging and final inspections before handover.
• Help review architectural as-built drawings and close-out documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in architectural engineering or another relevant engineering field.
• Experience in architectural site supervision and inspection of building projects, including residential, commercial or mixed-use developments.
• Prior UAE experience is mandatory, with knowledge of local authority requirements and construction practices.

Required skills

• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications and shop drawings.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD; basic knowledge of BIM tools such as Revit is preferred.
