Assistant Category Manager – Makeup Retail

About the role

The Assistant Category Manager supports the Category Buyer in developing and executing product strategies for the makeup category at Watsons stores across the UAE. The role ensures optimal stock levels, drives sales performance, and collaborates with cross‑functional teams and suppliers to meet financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating merchandising and promotional activities and ensure timely execution of new store assortments.
• Develop performance and stock analysis reports to optimise allocation and inventory turnover.
• Manage purchase orders in SAP, raise shipment discrepancies, and handle supplier queries.
• Communicate out‑of‑stock issues to buying and planning teams and support price checks and sample acquisition.
• Participate in weekly cross‑functional meetings to share field insights and drive location‑based opportunities.

Required profile

• Experience in a similar retail buying or category management role, preferably within the GCC region.
• Strong interest in the beauty industry and proven ability to achieve sales and margin targets.
• Proactive, self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and capable of building effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
