Assistant Cook – Restaurant Kitchen (Full‑time)

About the role

Seau de Crabe in Dubai is seeking an experienced Assistant Cook / Commis Chef to support the kitchen team. The role involves food preparation, cooking, cleaning and maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Assist chefs with daily food preparation and cooking.
• Prepare ingredients, sauces, vegetables, seafood and other menu items according to recipes.
• Follow portion control, food quality and presentation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
• Implement proper food storage, labeling and FIFO procedures.
• Monitor food temperatures and ensure safe handling of raw and cooked products.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and utensils.

Required profile

• Previous restaurant kitchen experience in the UAE (strongly preferred).
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service hours.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Responsible, clean, organized and punctual.
• Physically able to stand for long periods and perform kitchen duties.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen sanitation standards.
• Understanding of HACCP, FIFO, food storage and temperature‑control procedures.
• Basic cooking and food preparation skills.
• Knowledge of safe handling of seafood, meat and other food products.
