Assistant Cost Manager

About the role

Turner & Townsend is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Assistant Cost Manager to join its Abu Dhabi team. You will support pre‑contract cost management services across a range of construction projects, working closely with senior colleagues and project stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare feasibility estimates, cost plans, budgets and benchmarking exercises with precision.
• Develop and maintain project cost plans through concept, schematic and detailed design stages.
• Review design information, identify cost implications and support value‑engineering initiatives.
• Prepare tender documentation, bills of quantities and procurement packages in line with project requirements.
• Participate in client meetings, workshops and cost review sessions, and assist in preparing presentations and commercial recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
• 1‑3 years of professional experience in quantity surveying, cost management or construction consultancy.
• Demonstrated experience supporting both pre‑contract and post‑contract cost management services.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of quantity surveying and construction cost management principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Excellent numerical and analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
