Assistant Manager - Distribution Center

About the role

The Assistant Manager will oversee automation operations within a large distribution facility, ensuring system availability, performance, and compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of automated systems such as conveyors, sorters, AS/RS, and robotics, meeting KPIs for uptime, throughput and cycle time.
• Supervise preventive maintenance schedules and coordinate corrective actions with internal teams and vendors.
• Lead and mentor automation engineers, supervisors and technicians, assigning tasks and monitoring progress.
• Assist in planning and executing automation projects, including testing, commissioning and integration with IT and engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, conducting root‑cause analyses and safety audits.
• Prepare performance reports, maintain equipment documentation and provide recommendations for system enhancements.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience in warehouse automation or engineering, with 2‑3 years in a supervisory or assistant‑manager role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering; certifications in automation or lean operations are a plus.
• Strong leadership, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
