Assistant Manager - Engineering

About the role

Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Jumeirah's founding property in Dubai, is looking for an Assistant Manager - Engineering. The role supports the engineering team in planning, supervising daily operations and keeping the resort running smoothly for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing engineering strategies, preventive maintenance schedules and energy-saving initiatives.
• Supervise daily operations, ensure work orders are completed on time and adhere to SOPs, and collaborate with other departments to support guest services and events.
• Monitor compliance with JEMS, fire safety, life safety and health regulations.
• Manage inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring cost-effective procurement and usage.
• Prepare reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance and budget utilization.
• Support recruitment, training and development of engineering staff.
• Handle escalated technical issues and coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years in engineering operations within luxury hospitality, including 2-3 years in a leadership role.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Proficiency in English is essential.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to handling guest requests and service recovery.
