Assistant Professor in Economics

About the role

The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a faculty position (Assistant Professorship) in Economics within the College of Business and Economics (CBE), which has been AACSB accredited since 2000. The role combines teaching, research and programme promotion.

Key responsibilities

• Teach at the undergraduate and graduate level and advise students.
• Develop and sustain an internally and/or externally funded research programme, publishing in refereed journals.
• Promote the growth of the Economics programme and the CBE through outreach to the public and private sectors.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and/or dissertations.
• Take part in departmental, college and university committees as assigned.
• Provide consultancy to researchers and the business community.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Economics from an internationally recognised university and an AACSB-accredited school.
• Research record in Economics with demonstrated ability to publish in leading international journals.
• Experience teaching Economics courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Commitment to teaching excellence, curriculum development and outcome assessment.
• Openness to cross-disciplinary collaboration in research, teaching and programme development.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Preferred: professional and industry experience in Economics.
