Assistant Project Manager – Engineering Projects

About the role

Zutari, a multidisciplinary consultancy with over 90 years of experience across Africa and the Middle East, is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join its Project Management Unit (PMU). You will support senior project managers in delivering large-scale engineering, infrastructure and building projects across the Middle East, helping with coordination, planning, reporting and stakeholder management.

Key responsibilities

• Support senior project managers with day-to-day project delivery and coordination.
• Help develop and maintain project schedules, budgets and risk registers.
• Prepare and review progress reports, dashboards and presentations for internal and client use.
• Facilitate meetings and workshops, capturing action items and following through.
• Liaise with design teams, contractors and consultants to support communication and approvals.
• Assist with change management, cost control and procurement support.
• Monitor key deliverables for quality, timeliness and compliance with PMU processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and adoption of innovative project management practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years' experience in project coordination or assistant project management in engineering, construction or consultancy.
• Previous experience in the Middle East preferred but not essential.
• Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.

Required skills

• Familiarity with project controls, risk management and reporting tools; Primavera P6 or MS Project is an advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Knowledge of BIM and digital tools is a plus.
