Assistant Technician – Water Network Pump Mechanic

About the role

Serco is seeking an Assistant Technician – Water Network Pump Mechanic to perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on a variety of pumps and related hydraulic equipment at Dubai Airports. The role involves both independent tasks and teamwork to ensure minimal disruption to airport operations.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair major and minor faults on pumps, hydraulic equipment, compressors, controls, valves and related components.
• Carry out routine and preventive maintenance on pumps, engines and compressors.
• Install, repair and maintain pipes, valves, fittings and drainage systems.
• Overhaul pumps and perform repair activities on pressure vessels, oil interceptors and backflow preventer assemblies.
• Maintain irrigation, stormwater, aircraft potable water and sewage pump systems.
• Execute planned preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance tasks safely.
• Perform electrical isolations and LOTO procedures on low‑voltage equipment, read electrical drawings and use test equipment.

Required profile

• Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Diploma (3‑year) in Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent.
• IOSH Working Safely Certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in pump repair or maintenance, preferably in an airport or large‑scale facility.
• Good spoken and written English and working knowledge of MS Office.
