About the role

The Department of English at the College of Arts and Sciences seeks a full‑time Assistant or Associate Professor specializing in Anglophone African Literature. The appointment begins in August 2027 and involves teaching, research, and service within an American‑style university in the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Teach a six‑course annual load (three undergraduate and three graduate courses) covering introductory and advanced literature, academic writing, and communication.
• Contribute to departmental and university life through student mentoring, enrichment events, and participation in shared governance.

Required profile

• PhD in Literature or a closely related discipline with a research focus on Anglophone African Literature.
• Record of high‑quality scholarly publications appropriate to the rank.
• University‑level teaching experience, preferably at North‑American‑style institutions, with at least three years preferred.
