Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Financial Accounting

About the role

The Department of Accounting at United Arab Emirates University is seeking an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in Financial Accounting starting Fall 2026. The appointee is expected to contribute actively to the growth of the accounting program and the College of Business & Economics (CBE). The department is AACSB-Accredited and is known for excellence in accounting education and research in the UAE, GCC and MENA region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in accounting, with an emphasis on financial accounting and data analytics
• Publish high-quality research in leading accounting journals
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and/or dissertations
• Take part in departmental, college and university committees as assigned
• Promote the growth of the university
• Perform administrative duties assigned by the Department Chair and the College Dean

Required profile

• Earned PhD in accounting from an internationally recognized university, with an emphasis on financial accounting
• Ability to teach undergraduate courses is a must
• Preferred: PhD in accounting with a focus on financial accounting and data analytics, plus professional experience and/or CPA/CIA/ACCA certification
• Preference for a strong research and publication record, shown by a high Scopus h-index and citations

Required skills

• Experience teaching financial accounting at undergraduate and postgraduate level
• Demonstrated ability to publish in leading accounting journals
• Strong commitment to teaching, curriculum development and outcome assessment
• Computer skills, especially financial accounting and data analytics software
• Effective communication in English and very good interpersonal skills
