Associate / Associate Director – Technical Architect

About the role

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a highly accomplished Associate / Associate Director – Technical Architect to lead technical delivery of major multidisciplinary projects across the UAE and the wider region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical architectural design and delivery from concept through construction for large‑scale mixed‑use, commercial, hospitality, residential, aviation, cultural, healthcare, or public sector projects.
• Provide expert guidance on building systems, materials, detailing, coordination and technical compliance, ensuring alignment with project requirements, quality standards and local regulations.
• Coordinate closely with structural, MEP, landscape and specialist disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Lead technical reviews, design audits, quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with UAE building regulations, international codes and client standards.
• Mentor architects and project teams, support project directors in managing programme, risk, resources and technical performance, and engage with clients, authorities, contractors and key stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of professional experience delivering large‑scale projects in the Middle East.
• Strong technical expertise in architectural detailing, specifications, building systems and construction methodologies.
• In‑depth knowledge of UAE authority approvals, building regulations and international design and construction standards.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary design coordination and manage senior stakeholder relationships.
