Associate HSES Specialist

About the role

The Associate HSES Specialist works with HSES Specialists and Supervisors to plan, implement and coordinate HSES programs that prevent or correct hazardous conditions. The role provides HSE leadership to field personnel and ensures company HSE policies are consistently understood and applied.

Key responsibilities

• Provide HSE leadership to field personnel and set standards of behaviour.
• Inspect work areas regularly, identify unsafe acts or conditions and advise line management.
• Assist with incident investigations, compile reports and monitor corrective actions.
• Oversee maintenance and inspection of lifesaving and firefighting equipment.
• Support medical evacuations (medivacs) and respond promptly to emergencies.
• Communicate HSES performance statistics and critical information to all employees via notice boards and meetings.
• Observe work groups, intervene on unsafe acts and coach workers to perform tasks safely.
• Report deficiencies in plant equipment (cranes, forklifts, etc.) to relevant supervisors.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma (or equivalent) in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant HSES experience.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken.
• Familiarity with local and international HSES laws, codes, regulations and norms.
