Associate Professor - Early Childhood Education

About the role

The Department of Learning and Educational Leadership in the College of Education at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is recruiting a full-time Associate Professor in Early Childhood Education. The department seeks a scholar with a strong record of teaching, research and service who will contribute to the growth of its graduate and undergraduate programs.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Early Childhood Education Master's program.
• Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, including supervision of graduation projects, theses and dissertations.
• Maintain an active agenda of scholarly research and publication in Early Childhood Education.
• Pursue external funding through grant writing and research collaborations.
• Establish interdisciplinary partnerships with other academic units within the College, across the country and internationally.
• Build and sustain partnerships with schools and educational organizations.
• Contribute to program development and continuous improvement.
• Provide service to the department, college, university and the wider educational community.
• Organize and facilitate professional workshops for university and community stakeholders.

Required profile

• Earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field from an accredited, highly reputable institution.
• Strong record of scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals, preferably Scopus-indexed Q1 and Q2 journals.
• Evidence of excellence in university-level teaching.
• Demonstrated experience advising graduate students and supervising dissertations and theses.
• Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in teaching, research and service.
• Proficiency in English; Arabic is a plus, as is knowledge of the UAE culture and education system.
