AVP and Audit Manager - Personal Banking (Emiratized)

About the role

First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) is hiring an AVP and Audit Manager for its Personal Banking segment, based in Abu Dhabi. The role leads and takes part in audits of Consumer, Private and Business Banking segments across the FAB Group, including Group subsidiaries, and acts as the day-to-day audit contact with management in these segments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and participate in audits of Consumer, Private and Business Banking segments in the UAE and internationally, ensuring they follow the Annual Plan and finish on time
• Identify weaknesses, report and escalate significant findings, and agree action plans with management
• Advise management on governance, risk and control issues and help develop Group-wide audit practice
• Assist in special investigations and reviews requested by the Head of Audit
• Guide and train junior colleagues, share knowledge and promote ethical behaviour
• Monitor budget performance and report variances to management
• Maintain the audit universe, prepare risk assessments and audit programmes, and review audit worksheets and reports within 3 weeks of fieldwork completion
• Negotiate documented management action plans and follow up corrective actions until implemented
• Act as audit business partner to line managers, advise on governance, risk and control, and lead continuous improvement
• Prepare functional reports on time and accurately

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree; post-graduate, professional qualification or certification desirable
• Minimum 5 years' experience in an international bank or Big 4; internal audit experience strongly preferred but not mandatory
• Working knowledge of Consumer, Private and Business Banking activities and risks
• Knowledge of bank and audit policies and Central Bank regulations, if relevant
