Biochemistry or Molecular Biology Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor

About the role

Dubai Medical University is recruiting a Biochemistry or Molecular Biology professor, associate professor or assistant professor in Dubai. The position covers teaching, research and service within the university's curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses, prepare and update teaching materials, and deliver lectures, tutorials, practicals and clinical teaching sessions
• Supervise and assess student research, projects and examinations, and advise and mentor students
• Use innovative teaching methods, including technology and simulation where appropriate
• Maintain an active research agenda aligned with the university's priorities, publish in Scopus-indexed journals and present at reputable conferences
• Seek external research funding and join collaborative research initiatives
• Take part in departmental, college and university committees, curriculum development, accreditation and faculty development, and engage in community service and outreach

Required profile

• Professor: Ph.D. or equivalent, at least 10 years of teaching and research experience after the terminal degree, strong publication record and academic leadership
• Associate Professor: Ph.D. or equivalent, at least 5 years of teaching and research experience after the terminal degree, solid publication record
• Assistant Professor: Ph.D. or equivalent, potential in teaching, research and service; previous higher education or postdoctoral experience preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a multicultural environment, and familiarity with accreditation standards and quality assurance in higher education
