Brand Manager - Retail

About the role

Al-Futtaim Retail is looking for a Brand Manager to manage the business of an assigned brand, developing and running brand business plans to maximise sales and profits. The role works closely with the Brand principal and requires strategic decisions on growth and risk, while keeping the brand compliant with local laws, regulations and cultural expectations. It sits within the Sinyar Management Program.

Key responsibilities

• Budgeting: plan seasonal purchases, give forward estimates to merchandisers, attend buying fairs and contribute to the yearly budget
• Buying management: monitor stock levels, analyse reports, identify best and low sellers and run promotions or price cuts
• Pricing and margins: simulate prices before each season, run competition analysis and ensure margin targets are met
• Principal relationship: negotiate prices, delivery plans and lead times, and give feedback on product suitability
• Team management: manage a culturally diverse team, train and develop staff and coordinate training
• Coordination: work with marketing and operations on promotions, with the VM team on visual merchandising, and support problem-solving in other countries

Required profile

• Degree holder, preferably in Merchandise Planning, Brand Management, Sales, Marketing or Promotions
• 5-7 years in a multi-unit, multi-brand retailer, preferably apparel, in category or brand management
• 1-2 years leading a group of brands or a large brand
• Experience managing relationships with large international principals and exposure to retail, promotions and visual merchandising
