Building Envelope Engineer – Façade Design Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a technically proficient Building Envelope Engineer who will develop, evaluate, and coordinate high‑performance façade systems for a variety of commercial, residential, industrial and mixed‑use projects. The role blends façade engineering, building physics, material selection and construction coordination to ensure envelopes meet functional, aesthetic, safety and sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review façade designs, curtain walls, cladding assemblies, glazing systems and external wall components.
• Translate architectural concepts into feasible engineering solutions and perform preliminary performance assessments.
• Coordinate design with architectural, structural, mechanical and building services teams, assessing loads, movements and thermal performance.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, material schedules and engineering documentation.
• Review shop and fabrication drawings, assess waterproofing, air infiltration, thermal insulation and fire safety compliance.
• Support mock‑up development, laboratory and on‑site testing, and investigate façade defects.
• Participate in design reviews, value‑engineering workshops and tender preparation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Building or Architectural Engineering or related field.
• Mid‑level to senior experience in façade engineering, curtain‑wall or cladding design.
• Strong understanding of building envelope principles, waterproofing, thermal performance and fire safety requirements.
• Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings and manage multiple design packages.
