Buying Assistant

About the role

Ralph Lauren is looking for a Buying Assistant to support the buying team and keep its day-to-day operations running smoothly. The role covers pre-buying analysis, post-buying reporting, stock management and supplier coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Pre-buying: consolidate pre-buying reports, build knowledge of sales targets and budgets per shop or country, and analyse market data such as turnover, best sellers, slow movers, trends, stock coverage and customer profile.
• Support buyers in supplier meetings and help select merchandise, considering budgets, fashion trends, culture and gender.
• Post-buying: compare pre-buy versus actual purchases, present key brand recommendations and product presentations (images, size breakdown, fabric, reasoning).
• Monitor sell-through against budget, coordinate timely stock transfers between stores and warehouses, and run recovery plans for fast-selling items at risk of stockout.
• Manage vendor relationships, track shipments and escalate delays; insert orders into the system and provide input for the assortment plan.
• Reporting: weekly and monthly reports, a bi-weekly seasonal sell-through report, and a monthly report to the regional merchandiser and commercial teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field.
• At least 3 years' experience in a similar role, including fashion buying experience.
• Fluency in English is a must.
• Logical approach to data and situations, analytical and detail-oriented, able to meet deadlines and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel.
• Ability to compile presentations and run regular and ad-hoc sales reports.
