Buying Assistant Merchandiser – Kids Wear

About the role

The Buying Assistant Merchandiser supports the Senior Merchandiser and Merchandiser in the Kids Wear business unit. You will analyse reports, assist in product selection and planning, and ensure data is up‑to‑date, helping the team maintain optimal stock levels across stores.

Key responsibilities

• Manage BTF settings, balance ratios and guide allocators; implement the AI Allocation solution from Invent Analytics.
• Liaise with store teams to understand regional needs, improve availability and sell‑through, and ensure correct size availability.
• Generate accurate business reports, track promotions, analyse weekly trade data and flag best/worst sellers.
• Assist senior merchandisers in catalogue buying, maintain the core buying sheet, and enter quantities into the IBT/Digital Range Building system.
• Prepare planograms using DRB, compare performance against last year, buying budget and promotional calendar.
• Act as first point of contact for store stock issues and support weekly trade communications.
• Contribute to regional strategy, maintain relationships with principals and support digital transformation initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 36 months (3 years) experience in merchandising, buying or related retail functions.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into actionable recommendations.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work closely with store teams, principals and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple reporting processes and maintain accurate product data.
