CCTV Technician

About the role

SmartLine Information Technology is a UAE‑based technology business providing computer hardware, software, networking, CCTV products, and related technology solutions. They are seeking a CCTV Technician to support the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of surveillance systems for company and client locations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, and maintain CCTV cameras, DVRs, NVRs, monitors, storage devices, and supporting equipment.
• Install and terminate network and video cabling, assess connections, and resolve signal or connectivity issues.
• Configure camera views, recording settings, remote access, user permissions, and basic network parameters.
• Diagnose hardware, power, cabling, image‑quality, recording, and software‑related faults.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, system inspections, upgrades, and replacement of faulty components.
• Prepare installation notes, service reports, equipment records, and handover documentation.
• Follow health and safety procedures at customer and installation sites.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience installing and troubleshooting CCTV, DVR, NVR, IP cameras, and surveillance accessories.
• Working knowledge of IP networking, TCP/IP, addressing, switches, routers, remote access, and basic network security.
• Ability to install, test, label, and repair coaxial, UTP, and related low‑voltage cabling.
• Competence in camera positioning, image calibration, storage configuration, playback, backups, and system testing.
• Ability to use hand tools, cable testers, multimeters, and manufacturer configuration software safely.
• Strong fault‑finding, documentation, time‑management, and customer‑service skills.
• Willingness to work at customer or installation sites and follow health and safety procedures.
