Chef de Cuisine - Garde Manger

About the role

W Hotels is hiring a full-time Chef de Cuisine Garde Manger in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role centres on preparing food items with creativity and attention to presentation, improving guest satisfaction while keeping within the operating budget and ensuring sanitation and food standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all cold food preparation areas, including banquets, room service, restaurant, employee cafeteria and lounges
• Assist in menu development for cold items and create decorative food displays
• Prepare and cook foods of all types, regularly and for special guests or events
• Check the quality of raw and cooked food products
• Demonstrate knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
• Supervise and coordinate cooks and food-preparation workers
• Plan, prioritise and organise work, and meet performance, budget and team goals
• Deliver exceptional customer service, coach staff and manage day-to-day operations
• Provide information to supervisors and colleagues, analyse results, solve problems and attend meetings

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, or a 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management or a related major
• 4 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage or a related field, or 2 years with a degree
