Chief Accountant / Assistant Finance Manager

About the role

The Chief Accountant / Assistant Finance Manager leads daily accounting operations, financial reporting, cost control and compliance for a concrete manufacturing business. Reporting to the CFO, the role bridges operational finance with strategic planning.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with IFRS/local GAAP and lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Monitor unit costs for concrete mix designs, manage inventory valuation of raw materials, and perform batch‑to‑dispatch reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash‑flow monitoring, bank reconciliations and credit facilities.
• Ensure tax compliance (VAT/GST, corporate tax), coordinate internal and external audits and maintain strict internal controls.
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team while optimizing ERP usage (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics or industry‑specific systems).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, ACCA, CMA or CA preferred.
• 10–15 years of progressive accounting experience, including 8–10 years in a senior role within concrete, ready‑mix, precast or related construction manufacturing.
• Strong analytical abilities, leadership skills and commercial acumen.
