Chief Projects Officer - Construction & Contracting

About the role

A leading contracting company, recruited by a talent agency, is looking for an experienced Chief Projects Officer (CPO) to provide strategic and operational leadership across its project portfolio. The role is based in Dubai, UAE, and covers the full lifecycle of construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee multiple construction projects from planning through execution and final handover.
• Drive project delivery while meeting timelines, budgets, quality standards and contractual requirements.
• Oversee project financial performance, profitability, cost control, cash flow and commercial risk management.
• Set up project governance frameworks, KPIs, reporting systems and performance improvement initiatives.
• Optimise resource allocation across projects, including manpower, equipment, materials and subcontractors.
• Manage key relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Lead and develop project directors, project managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• 15-20+ years of experience in construction and contracting, including significant senior leadership experience.
• Proven track record managing large-scale construction projects and multi-project portfolios.
• Demonstrated ability to drive project profitability and successful project delivery.
• UAE/GCC experience is highly preferred.
