Chiller Technician

About the role

EDGE Group is seeking an experienced Chiller Technician to install, maintain, and repair industrial, commercial and residential chiller systems in Abu Dhabi. The role involves hands‑on work across various facilities and requires close coordination with engineers and project managers.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and perform installation of water‑cooled, air‑cooled and absorption chillers, ensuring compliance with specifications and local codes.
• Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and component replacement such as compressors, motors, valves and pumps.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and refrigerant faults, perform repairs and verify system performance.
• Provide emergency support for breakdowns, delivering temporary fixes and permanent solutions.
• Prepare detailed service reports, maintenance logs and communicate recommendations for upgrades and energy efficiency.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in refrigeration & air‑conditioning technology or mechanical engineering.
• 5–7 years of experience with industrial, commercial and residential chiller systems.
• EPA Section 608 Certification and preferably certifications from Trane, Carrier or York.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics and technical manuals.
• Electrical wiring, refrigerant line installation and control system integration.
• Refrigerant handling, pressure‑system knowledge and leak detection.
• Advanced troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical faults.
