Chiller Technician

About the role

Carrier is looking for a Chiller Technician in Dubai to keep its customers' HVAC systems running efficiently and reliably. The role covers preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and technical inspections on chillers and airside equipment, supported by industry expertise and a team focused on service.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs on HVAC equipment, including chillers and airside systems
• Inspect air-conditioning units, diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and recommend corrective actions
• Maintain, repair and replace damaged or defective components
• Work on reciprocating, screw and scroll chillers, as well as DX and airside equipment
• Adjust and maintain electrical and electronic control systems, clean coils and blowers, inspect motors and check belt tensions
• Prepare technical inspection reports, site condition assessments, scopes of work and recommendations
• Complete job cards, job completion certificates, EH&S site surveys, daily timesheets and other service documentation
• Communicate with customers about work progress, outstanding issues and recommended improvements
• Estimate labour hours and materials needed for each service activity
• Follow quality management procedures, manufacturer guidelines and company service standards
• Identify workplace hazards, implement safety controls and safely handle equipment lifting, including gantry setup and pump/chiller overhaul
• Manage service tools and equipment, including inventory, and escalate technical issues to management when needed
• Attend regular EH&S and technical training

Required profile

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC&R)
• 2-4 years of relevant experience in the HVAC industry, preferably in field service and equipment maintenance
• Good understanding of HVAC maintenance and repair principles, in line with industry practice and manufacturer guidelines
• Familiarity with workplace health, safety and environmental procedures, including hazard identification, risk control and MSDS
• Ability to prepare technical inspection reports, maintenance records and service documentation
• Good command of English, strong communication and customer-focused, team-oriented approach
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with mobile apps used for service activities
• Ability to work independently, follow instructions and meet service deadlines; a valid driving licence is an advantage

Required skills

• Minimum product knowledge of DX and airside equipment, reciprocating, screw and scroll chillers
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical and building automation control systems
